The University Department of General, Visceral and Transplant Surgery Tübingen, in short, General Surgery, is located in the Crona Hospitals on the "Berg" Hospital premises.
Tumour and transplant surgery, minimally invasive surgery, interventional endoscopy and treatment of chronic wounds.
The Department of General Surgery runs the Transplant Centre in co-operation with the departments of the University Hospital and the University's research institutions.
The Department of General Surgery is a member of the Southwest German Tumour Centre - the Comprehensive Cancer Centre Tübingen - which is promoted by the "Deutsche Krebshilfe" (German Cancer Aid). In co-operation with the Department of Medicine I & II and the Department of Radiation Oncology, it also runs the Centre of Gastrointestinal Oncology (tumours of the abdominal organs).
The Department of General Surgery is a partner in the Adiposity Platform and carries out the respective surgical procedures in a minimally invasive manner.
