Welcome Center for International Researchers

If you are working as a international researcher at the Faculty of Medicine Tübingen or are interested in a research stay at the Faculty of Medicine, the Welcome Center is here to assist you and your host laboratory. Together with the iSiS Welcome Center of the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, we offer advice and assistance in applying for your visa and residence permit as a researcher. We would be happy to put together tailored checklists and information so that you know what to expect when you arrive in Tübingen.

If you will be financing your research stay with a fellowship, your host laboratory should arrange for you to be given a visiting scientist agreement, which will provide you with insurance against work-related accidents. Your host should always contact the personnel department at the earliest possible date so that the necessary preparations and formalities can be taken care of.

In general, the same personnel procedures apply as with German scientists. We would be happy to assist you with special questions about visa and residence/work permits and about living in Germany.

So that we can help you effectively, please register with the iSiS Welcome Center of the University of Tübingen. iSiS manages the guest housing of the university and collects addresses of private rooms and apartments. After you have registered with iSiS, your registration form is forwarded to the Welcome Center of the Faculty of Medicine. You will find the registration form on the right-hand side of the homepage of the iSiS Welcome Center of the University of Tübingen.
