The University Hospital Tübingen Centre for Vocational Training and Further Education offers numerous opportunities for vocational training and further education.
These opportunities are geared to the current requirement of specific occupational groups as well as to the non-specific interdisciplinary areas. In our Centre we have specialist instructors who are experts in the field of teaching and teaching methods. They also have long years of experience behind them both as experts in their own professions and as teachers. Hence they are in a position of being able to impart the latest know-how and the newest methods.
A number of hospitals in the area take advantage of the University Hospital's offer of vocational training and further education for their staff and actively co-operate with us. As a Hospital providing the very best in health-care, we are able to offer through our system of further education a variety of professional qualifications in the field of specialist nursing care, e.g.:
- The surgical/operating sectors
- Intensive care (adult and paediatric) and anaesthesiology
- Psychiatry
- Oncology for nursing professions
Additional qualifications at the University Hospital can not only be acquired by our own staff, but also by participants from other establishments or from outpatient nursing services. Our modular system, which permits vocational training to be completed on an extremely flexible basis in respect of time and content, is unique in the region. The courses are part of a modular unit and can hence either be taken individually or as a complete package. It is possible to start one of these courses at any given time.
- Intermediate Care Training (IMC). This is a qualification for the nursing care of both adults and children in intensive care monitoring areas and in intensive care units.
- Artificial respiration at home. This is a qualification for the care of adults and children requiring artificial respiration at home or in outpatient clinics
