AI for Biomedical Research in ChatGPT-era
Dear colleagues,
we are pleased to announce a lecture by
Dr. Jun Seita, RIKEN Information R&D and Strategy Headquarters, Japan
Dr. Jun Seita is Team Leader (Principal Investigator) at RIKEN, Japan, where he leads 3 laboratories: Medical Data Deep Learning Team in Advanced Data Science Project, Laboratory for Integrative Genomics in Center for Integrative Medical Sciences and Medical Data Sharing Unit in RIKEN Information R&D and Strategy Headquarters. He received his M.D. from the University of Tsukuba in 1996 and after completion of residency in cardiovascular surgery, he studied stem cell biology and received his Ph.D. in Medicine from the University of Tokyo. From 2006 to 2016, he had been in Stanford University studying single cell biology, systems biology, data-driven science and machine learning. His research interests cover the areas where AI meets biology, medicine, and beyond. He is also professor at the University of Tsukuba, and advisor at avatarin inc.
The talk title will be: “AI for Biomedical Research in ChatGPT-era”
“For the past five years, my laboratory has been exploring the potential of deep learning for medical domains other than diagnostic imaging. In this talk, I would like to introduce our results, then summarise the impact of the fundamental model based on the large language model that appeared in November 2022, and discuss with you how this technology will change the use of AI in biomedical research.”
The lecture will take place:
Tuesday, 10th of October 5 p.m. at M3 Lecture Hall
