iFIT Lunch & Learn Session 2024 with Dr. Barbara Schörg
Visualizing the invisible: Multimodal molecular imaging of immune cell dynamics and activation patterns in cancer and inflammatory diseases

On behalf of the iFIT spokespersons Lars Zender, Juliane Walz and Bernd Pichler, it is our pleasure to inform you about and invite you to the next iFIT Lunch & Learn Session 2024 that will take place
on Wednesday, July 17th at 12:00 pm (CEST)
at Big Lecture Hall in the Medical Clinic (Medizinische Klinik, Otfried-Müller Straße 10, 72076 Tübingen).
Our guest speaker, Dr. Barbara Schörg (Department of Preclinical Imaging and Radiopharmacy) will give a talk on
“Visualizing the invisible: Multimodal molecular imaging of immune cell dynamics and activation patterns in cancer and inflammatory diseases”.
Immunotherapies have emerged as potent treatment options for numerous cancers and inflammatory diseases. However, their efficacy can vary significantly among patients. Thus, understanding the temporal and spatial dynamics of immune responses and treatment resistance at a cellular and molecular level is crucial. Non-invasive molecular imaging techniques, such as positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), enable non invasive investigations of diverse molecular and cellular targets in vivo throughout the course of immunotherapies. Our group is dedicated to advance the field through the development of innovative multimodal molecular imaging approaches. By perfoming antibody- and nanobody-based PET-immunoimaging, we aim to detect immune cells and their spatial and temporal distribution and thus, cellular patterns underlying treatment responses. Furthermore, we apply PET/MRI to investigate immune activation and metabolic changes in mouse models of both cancer and inflammatory diseases, providing essential insights into disease progression and therapeutic outcomes.
As a special feature of this program, the iFIT will sponsor free lunch packages! (First come, first serve)
All members of the University Hospital and University of Tübingen are invited to participate!
We look forward to this Lunch & Learn Series session and to see you there!
