The group of Dr Christoph Trautwein tests the neofleX by Bruker
Some adventures start with a big wooden box: Our AG Trautwein is very happy and proud about their latest instrument delivery and installation. "The Bruker neofleX will enforce our capacities and research in spatial metabolomics and lipidomics", says Dr. Christoph Trautwein, head of our Core Facility Metabolomics and research group leader for Functional and Spatial Metabolomics . "With a minimum voxel resolution of 20 µm it still enables observations at the larger cellular space and thanks to it's MS/MS function, selected precour ions can be fragmented for enhanced annotation confidence or quantitative MSI." The neofleX system is provided for free within a one year trial thank's to Dr. Trautwein's long-standing and highly fruitful collaboration with Bruker. "Besides imaging of small metabolites and lipids, the neofleX is a highly-suited MALDI benchtop system for glycan imaging and multiplexing methods; it therefore perfectly fits into many of our running projects, e.g. our big BMBF-funded endometriosis grant ENDO-RELIEF, the DFG-funded iRTG graduate school Limits2Vision and our recently awarded cancer biomarker project COMBAT", says Dr. Trautwein. "We are very thankful to Bruker and looking forward to an exciting year, also establishing new workflows for high-throughput MALDI Imaging together with our timsTOF flex MALDI Imaging system".
