Science Speed Dating Event
iFIT members only
Dear iFIT members,
“Strangers in the night, exchanging glances, wandering in the night, what were the chances, …” Many of you may know these wonderful first lines of a classical song by the one and only Frank Sinatra. But what does Frank and in particular his song have to do with science? Well, since our Cluster of Excellence is a unique collaboration of three research areas with many members there is often not much time to really get to know each other’s research projects. Wouldn’t it be nice to learn more about Gefitinib-Tamoxifen Hybrid Ligands in a cozy atmosphere? Or what about the immunohistochemical expression of S100 in meningiomas while sipping on a nice warm cup of coffee? Our who could resist listing to the molecular hallmarks of primary and secondary vitreoretinal lymphoma?
That’s why we came up with the idea of a Science Speed Dating Event!
- Why? The Science Speed Dating is an informal and high-energy social activity to encourage people to speak with one another, ask questions, and learn about other scientific areas of research - promoting collaborations within and across Areas A, B and C.
- How? Each event will have 10-20 participants and will have a maximum duration of 2 hours. There will be a coffee break and each person will engage in five randomly selected scientific conversations of 7 minutes each.
Where and When? 14th of February 2023 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Kasino Konferenzräume 1+2 (Klinken Berg).
Please let us know if you are ready for an exciting science rendezvous!
And to say it with the words of someone who has a little bit more knowledge of science than Ol' Blue Eyes: “"The bottom line is, if you don't meet people, you will never find someone who can find you new information and a new vision," – Stefano Rivella, PhD Leonard and Madlyn Abramson Pediatric Research Center, Philadelphia.
