iFIT Seminar Series with Francisco Barriga, PhD
Dissecting the function of copy number alterations in cancer

On behalf of the iFIT spokespersons Lars Zender, Juliane Walz and Bernd Pichler, it is our pleasure to inform you about and invite you to the next episode of our iFIT Seminar Series 2024 that will take place
on Monday, October 7th at 12:00 pm (CET)
at Big Lecture Hall in the Medical Clinic (Medizinische Klinik, Otfried-Müller Straße 10, 72076 Tübingen).
Our guest speaker, Francisco Barriga, PhD (Vall D´Hebron Institute of Oncology) will give a talk on
“Dissecting the function of copy number alterations in cancer”.
Cancer genomes have chromosomal alterations that increase or decrease the dosage of large genomic regions. These pervasive genetic events, termed copy number alterations (CNAs), have cancer-specific patterns and clinical correlates, yet their biological effects remain poorly understood. Barriga and his team have developed genome engineering approaches to create copy number alterations de novo to study their function in cancer cells. His group is particularly interested in CNAs as mechanisms of immune evasion and drivers of intra-tumor heterogeneity.
As a special feature of this program, the iFIT will sponsor free lunch packages! (First come, first serve)
All members of the University Hospital and University of Tübingen are invited to participate!
We look forward to this Seminar Series session and to see you there!
