The International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG) under the auspices of the International Council

of Ophthalmology (ICO) will be conducting the 7th Uveitis Course, which will be held in Venice, Italy in March of 2019.

 

It will again take place at the Venice International University where participants will reside for the entire duration of the course. Besides covering the whole field of uveitis, special topics will be offered in four small interactive groups: to learn how to evaluate uveitis patients, to rationally develop a differential diagnosis, to interpret fluorescent and indocyanine green angiographic findings, and to optimize immunosuppressive therapy. The interactive program will allow in depth discussion on management of even complicated uveitis issues.

 

The course will be limited to 54 participants. The faculty is composed of highly experienced uveitis specialists who are well known for their teaching skills.

We want to invite people from developing African countries to this course.

This invitation will include:

  • Course with all material
  • Accommodation: March 2nd – March 9th, 2019 (7 nights)
  • Travel grant up to 800 Euro
  • Grant for personal costs (30 Euro per day, 240 Euro in total)

  • letter of motivation and CV
  • letter of recommendation (from a person who supports your application, describing why you should participate in the Venice course, and what implications participation will have for you).
  • Copy of your passport, valid for not less than one year
Criteria for selection
  • Age: not older than 40 years of age
  • Education: residency in ophthalmology should be finished or at least for 70% finished.
  • Input for the future work: applicant should workin a public hospital, not in private practice.
