Dr. med. Benjamin Ruf awarded with the Württemberg Cancer Prize

The 2025 Württemberg Cancer Prize for the best project, worth 30.000€ goes to Dr. Benjamin Ruf from Internal Medicine I and the M3 Research Center. He is also a member of the iFIT Cluster of Excellence. Immunotherapies, especially those that target T cells, have revolutionised tumour therapy, but only some patients have benefited from them so far. Dr. Ruf and his group are investigating the role of so-called MAIT cells, a specific type of T cell found in the liver that could play a key role in fighting liver cancer
