AACR 2024 in San Diego

This years American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting took place under the claim "Inspiring Science • Fueling Progress • Revolutionizing Care". Thousands of scientists, physicians and researchers from around the world gathered in the Golden State to present and discuss the newest topics surrounding cancerresearch.

👨‍🔬 So it was no surprise that we had members participating in one of the worlds largest cancer research conferences representing our Cluster of Excellence. Our spokesperson Lars Zender was part of the meeting presenting interesting research with the title: "𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗣𝗫𝟮-𝘁𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆" suggesting that small molecules designed to stabilize protein-protein interactions represent powerful anti-cancer drugs with an exceptional therapeutic window.

👩‍🔬 Furthermore, PhD student Anaïs Choffart (Werner Siemens Imaging Center) has made the long journey to "America's Finest City" to take part in the poster session presenting a great scientific poster regarding "𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝘂𝗺𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝘃𝗼." As part of our iFIT PhD Training Program PLUS*, Anais had the opportunity to go on this special trip to one of the world's most renowned cancer conferences.
