About us
The Institute of Immunology combines two focal points at the Tübingen site: on the one hand, translational immunology with the transfer of clinical studies from the laboratory to the bedside. On the other hand, the Institute is involved in basic research in the fields of T-cell biology, antibody and CAR cell therapies, peptide vaccination, the innate immune system, including toll-like receptors and inflammasomes, and interaction with the microbiome. With the Institute's long-standing expertise in tumour-specific peptides, established by Senior Professor Hans-Georg Rammensee, and new approaches in bioinformatics, personalized vaccines for tumour or infectious diseases are being developed. Tübingen is thus playing a pioneering role in the development of immunotherapies. The institute is also active in translational approaches in the fight against inflammatory processes.
