Please note: the essential requirements for a patent are:
- Novelty (i.e. it has not yet been published) and
- inventive step (i.e. the prior art does not suggest the invention).

Publishing and patenting?
Yes, you can!
It's not mutually exclusive, it just has to be done in the right order: First report the invention, then publish it. Ideally, the result is both: publication and patent application.
Ask us!
Important note: Your invention is not "protected" by registering it with us. Only when a patent application has been duly filed with the Patent Office is the prerequisite for obtaining a priority right fulfilled. In urgent cases, we can process your invention disclosure and, if necessary, prepare a professional patent application within six weeks.
Note: The legislator grants the employer two months to evaluate an invention disclosure with the intention of publication, without the intention of publication it is four months.
