The Master's Program Infection Biology and Control is a DAAD-funded study program exclusively for non-European students, primarily from West and Central Africa. The study program is based entirely on the campus of the partner institution Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréné (CERMEL) in Lambaréné, Gabon, and is conducted in block formats, to which external lecturers and lecturers from Tübingen travel on each occasion. Our goal is to provide graduates with the necessary knowledge and, above all, the skills to tackle infection-related research tasks in a region that has one of the highest burdens of infectious diseases in the world.

Infection Biology and Control

The Infection Biology and Control program in Lambaréné is a 4-semester full-time program completely offered in English. One of the most important features of the study program is the collaboration with a variety of cooperation partners (including Central African Infectious Disease and Epidemics Research Alliance (CAIDERA), Institut Pasteur, clinical research network of excellence for Central Africa (CANTAM)) and the opportunity to complete the Master's thesis in the fourth semester in a laboratory at an international partner institution. The master program applies the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).
