Fascinating World of Science
„After graduating from high school, I pursued the goal of working in the field of medicine. Through my studies in Molecular Medicine at both the bachelor’s and master’s level, I experienced the fascinating world of science, which connects medicine and research, and gained a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of life. The broad range of bachelor’s modules across various biomedically relevant subjects allowed me to build an interdisciplinary perspective. During the internships, I learned to think systematically, formulate hypotheses and connect my findings with current theories.
What truly strengthened my passion for science were the many insightful internships, especially the ones abroad, where I had the opportunity to conduct research on various organisms such as humans, yeast, insects, and mice, as well as on topics like radioactive radiation and skin cancer. During my master’s, I specialized in cancer immunology, driven by the program's emphasis on practical application through lab rotations, to understand how the immune system can be strategically equipped to fight cancer.
My studies not only provided me with valuable insights for my scientific career, but also significantly shaped my perspective on life and my understanding of it. Curiosity, openness, patience, and a thirst for knowledge are among the important qualities that my studies taught me. In summary, molecular medicine graduates have a wide range of opportunities — both during and after their studies — thanks to their broad skill set, their interdisciplinary approach, and their focus on medical research."
