Anna Wolfram receives the first DAREA Award for Gender Equity in STEM

We congratulate M3 researcher Anna Wolfram on receiving the first-ever DAREA Award for Gender Equity in STEM.
Awarded by Hochschule Darmstadt (h_da), the national DAREA Award honors researchers in academia or industry who drive structural change toward gender equity in STEM fields. Rather than a traditional prize, the award takes a creative approach: a custom-designed comic book that illustrates the recipient’s research and advocacy. The book will be freely distributed in schools to inspire the next generation of scientists.
Anna Wolfram's award-winning study on the "leaky pipeline" challenges the narrative that women leave STEM by choice, instead identifying structural barriers that limit their rise to top academic positions. As coordinator of the "Frauen mit Format"-network at Goethe University Frankfurt, she works to strengthen the visibility and connections of women in science and industry. Internationally, she contributes to the Diversity Team of the International Younger Chemists Network, where she develops DEI-focused webinars such as Women in Chemistry.
"Through her wide-ranging science communication, mentoring and international networks, Anna Wolfram makes a significant contribution to increasing the visibility of women in STEM and driving lasting change in science and society", said jury chair Dr. Barbara Voith, "She shapes science as a space for diversity and demonstrates what it means not just to advocate for inclusion, but to embody it."
