Information and consent, living will, help with conflict issues

You have the right to be informed in detail about everything that happens to you. The doctors and staff of the clinic will explain your illness and the treatment to you in the best possible way. If you are still not completely clear about something, ask and have everything explained to you again in detail. You must agree to the treatment and give your consent in writing. Only in life-threatening emergencies that require rapid intervention can this consent be waived.

The following contact points will help you in case of conflict or difficult questions.

All data that you have given us at the time of admission and, of course, everything concerning your illness and treatment is subject to statutory data protection and will be treated in accordance with the data protection regulations.

Confidentiality

All employees of the clinic are subject to the duty of confidentiality. We must maintain confidentiality towards third parties about your illness and everything you entrust to us. However, if you wish, you can release your doctor from his duty of confidentiality - he can then provide information to persons named by you.

Living will and health care proxy

Living will and health care proxy

In a living will, you can specify in writing how you would like to be treated medically in a situation where you are no longer able to make decisions for yourself. In this way, you can influence treatment even if you no longer have the capacity to make decisions and thus preserve your right to self-determination.
Tübingen guide to living wills

In a health care proxy, you can authorize one or more people you trust to represent you in decisions about your medical treatment if you can no longer make decisions for yourself.
