Information for international nurses
Have you gained vocational qualifications as a nurse/male nurse in your home country and would like to work with us at University Hospital Tübingen?
To do so, the regional council in Stuttgart needs to provide accreditation for your qualifications as a midwife, nurse or male nurse.
Recognition of your vocational qualification
We offer international nursing staff the opportunity to complete the assessment test for this at the University Hospital. In certain cases, you can also attend an adaptation course at our centre instead. You need to provide evidence of having reaching level B2 in your knowledge of German, in addition to passing the assessment test.
We will help you with all the necessary applications and correspondence.
You will receive a contract as a nurse assistant. Once accreditation has been successfully obtained, it is possible to employ you as a member of staff with a permanent job contract – provided that you have a residence and work permit.
For a consultation we need the following application documents:
After the consultation, please submit the following application documents:
- Assessment by the regional council
- Evidence of your current language skills, at least to level B1
- References (e.g. contract of employment)
- Qualifications from your nursing training in your home country and a certified translation of your qualifications
- Work permit
- Residence permit
We are looking forward to hear from you!
Good to know
We take great pains for your professional recognition and for your successful integration. For example, there are no costs for you for the lessons in Tübingen. The University Hospital will give you these costs as an employer if you stay with us for three years or more. If you cancel early, you will have to pay back the costs incurred. This is contractually agreed before starting work.
