PhD student Lukas Schönauer receives José Carreras GPOH PhD scholarship

This year, the José Carreras GPOH PhD scholarship has been awarded to Lukas Schönauer. He is a PhD student at the University Hospital of Tübingen, Department of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and part of Judith Feuchts iFIT research group "Cellular Immunotherapies". As part of the grant, Lukas will investigate molecular mechanisms to improve the efficacy and tolerability of CAR-T cells in leukemia.

For leukemia research in children and adolescents, the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation (DJCLS) in cooperation with the Society for Pediatric Oncology and Hematology e.V. (GPOH) has been awarding doctoral scholarships to young scientists since 2016. These scholarships are part of a comprehensive research funding program of DJCLS in the fight against leukemia.

The José Carreras GPOH PhD scholarship is endowed with 10,000 euros each for the duration of one year and enables PhD students to work exclusively on their own research project for one year.
