Prof. Juliane Walz elected as iFIT spokesperson

With Juliane Walz, our circle of speakers is complete again. Together with Lars Zender and Bernd Pichler she will lead our Cluster into a decisive year since we are working on our prolongation proposal. As a member from day one, Equal Opportunities Coordinator and part of the Executive Board, Juliane knows our Cluster inside out.

As W3 professor for peptide-based immunotherapy and medical director in the Clinical Cooperation Unit Translational Immunology, she created a unique opportunity to develop new, innovative immunotherapy concepts in the laboratory.

The overall goal of Juliane's research activities in the field of immunology is the development of new peptide-based immunotherapy concepts for tumor and infectious diseases. The identification, characterization and modification of such tumor- or infection-associated peptides by mass spectrometric immunopeptidome analysis is a major focus of Juliane's work. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards including the Württemberg Cancer Award from the Dres. Bayer Foundation, and she has published more than 70 original papers with a cumulative total impact factor of over 950.

Therefore, Juliane has everything it takes to represent the research area Immunotherapies and is a more than worthy successor to Hans-Georg as our new spokesperson.

Congratulations Juliane!
