Workshop Trajectories of Teacher Stress in Germany and South Africa

Under the University’s Excellence Strategy, the Department of Population-Based Medicine hosted a workshop in collaboration with colleagues from the University of the Witwatersrand (a strategic partner located in Johannesburg, South Africa), and the Hector Institute. Together, we developed an interdisciplinary project proposal aimed at addressing stress factors and coping mechanisms in teachers. These two distinct settings will offer a rich context for comparison, and we are excited to move forward in realizing the ideas generated during the workshop. We hope that the project will have meaningful real-world implications for teachers, including training programs and policy applications.
