Scientific work, like any professional collaboration, is subject to legal and ethical principles as well as to the rules of good scientific practice. An objective and fair leadership of scientific institutions and working groups according to transparent rules is important.
The Commission on Scientific Ethics and Compliance was established by the Dean's Office of the Medical Faculty 2021. It advises the dean's office on specific questions regarding ethical aspects of scientific communication and scientific organization in medicine and biomedicine as well as with regard to institutional compliance requirements on the one hand and compliance violations on the other.
The main tasks of the commission are guideline development as well as continuing education and training. The commission is active only upon request and on behalf of the dean's office and is not available for individual inquiries.
The commission is composed of members and employees of the Faculty of Medicine and employees of the University Hospital as well as two external members.
