Baden-Württemberg Foundation funds new Tokyo–Tübingen student exchange in infection research
We are delighted to announce that our Institute has received funding from the Baden-Württemberg Foundation through the BWS plus – Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for University Cooperations to establish the Infection Network Tokyo–Tübingen (infecTT). The program will strengthen the long-standing partnership between the University of Tübingen and the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Tokyo by supporting annual exchanges of students in the fields of infection biology, virology, immunology, and related biomedical sciences. Participants will spend three months in a partner laboratory, contribute to collaborative research projects, and benefit from an extensive scientific, cultural, and professional development program. Beyond laboratory research, the initiative aims to build lasting international collaborations, promote intercultural exchange, and prepare the next generation of scientists to address global challenges such as emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance. We are particularly excited to welcome talented students from Japan to Tübingen while creating new opportunities for our students to gain research experience in one of the world's leading biomedical research environments. Students interested in participating in the exchange are encouraged to contact our Institute for further information. We look forward to receiving applications from motivated students who would like to become part of this exciting international network.
