Dr. med. Benjamin Ruf receives two research awards by the DGVS

Wir gratulieren recht herzlich Dr. med. Benjamin Ruf.

Für herausragende wissenschaftliche Leistungen auf dem Gebiet der experimentellen Forschung im Bereich des hepatozellulären Karzinoms wird ihm dieses Jahr von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Gastroenterologie, Verdauungs- und Stoffwechselkrankheiten (DGVS) den Nachwuchsforschungspreis Leberkrebs überreicht. Mit diesem Preis wird seine Arbeit mit dem Titel „Tumor-Associated Macrophages Trigger MAIT Cell Dysfunction at the HCC Invasive Margin” ausgezeichnet.

Zudem erhält er den Rudolf Schindler - Abstractpreis für seine Arbeit “Targeting mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells for immunotherapy of HCC”.

Dr. med. Ruf ist Leiter der Arbeitsgruppe „Tumor immune microenvironment“ an dem M3 Forschungszentrum in Tübingen.

For exceptional achievements in the field of experimental research on hepatocellular carcinoma, he was awarded this year’s Young Research Award for Liver Cancer Research by the German Society for Gastroenterology, Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS). With this award, the DGVS honors his work „Tumor-Associated Macrophages Trigger MAIT Cell Dysfunction at the HCC Invasive Margin”.

Furthermore, he received the Rudolf Schindler – Abstract Award for his work entitled “Targeting mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells for immunotherapy of HCC”.

Dr. Ruf is group leader of the research group „Tumor immune microenvironment“ at The M3 Research Center in Tübingen.
