Gina Dunkel receives award for best presentation at GyMIC Molecular Imaging Symposium
Congratulations to Gina Dunkel! Not only did she give her first conference talk at the GyMIC Molecular Imaging Symposium (European Society for Molecular Imaging - ESMI) in Leipzig, but she also received the award for the best presentation!
About her research
Immunotherapies have shown promise as a treatment in #cancer therapy. However, despite remarkable success in primary tumors, efficacy in metastatic lesions is limited by large heterogeneity in T-cell homing and organ-specific effector function. To better understand immunosuppressive mechanisms at multiple organ sites and evaluate combinatorial immune targeting strategies, Gina is using multiscale imaging to correlate systemic T cell tracking by PET/MR with dynamic cellular and molecular analysis at the single cell level by lighsheet microscopy and high-content immunofluorescence.
