iFIT Lunch & Learn Session with Miriam Cortese-Krott
🤩 Looking forward to our iFIT Lunch & Learn Session on Wednesday, July 22!
We are delighted to welcome Miriam Cortese-Krott, Professor of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy at Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen of Tübingen.
🔬 What connects endothelial metabolic signalling and tumor ecosystems?
In her talk, Miriam will explore how metabolic signals shape endothelial heterogeneity and plasticity across diverse tissue microenvironments, including metabolic liver disease and the erythroid bone marrow niche.
☝These mechanisms share striking parallels with tumor ecosystems, particularly in the context of metabolic rewiring and angiocrine regulation. Miriam will discuss endothelial metabolism as a common mechanistic framework linking cardiovascular, metabolic and tumor-related processes.
🏥 With her extensive expertise in endothelial biology, primary endothelial cell systems, advanced mouse models and the investigation of endothelial function in health and disease, Miriam brings valuable perspectives for interdisciplinary collaborations at the interface of vascular biology, metabolism and cancer research.
💡 This research area offers exciting opportunities to build bridges between cardiovascular, metabolic, and tumor biology, fostering new collaborations and scientific insights.
🗨️ Join us for what promises to be an engaging presentation and a stimulating discussion!
