iFIT PR and Communication
Meet the iFIT PR and Communications Team - Bettina Danker and Jonas Ritz are looking forward to supporting and further developing science communication across the cluster.
Bettina Danker joined the iFIT Cluster of Excellence in May as PR Manager for Science Communication, taking over responsibilities previously held by Steven Pohl, who will continue his work at the University Hospital as Team Leader in Research Communication.
With a PhD in Developmental Biology and Genetics and extensive experience in science communication, research management, and media design, Bettina combines scientific expertise with strategic communication skills. Before joining iFIT, she worked at the UKT Institute of Immunology, where she was responsible for research communication, website management, and the coordination of scientific and organisational processes. In parallel, she worked as an independent graphic and web designer, developing communication concepts for medical, biotech, and pharmaceutical companies as well as research institutes.
Jonas Ritz recently joined the iFIT team as Advisor for Audiovisual Science Communication. Throughout completing his Master’s degree in “Production and Analysis of Media Studies,” he gained practical experience in science communication alongside his work as a freelance videographer.
At iFIT, Jonas develops audiovisual concepts and content ranging from photo and video productions to storytelling and social media formats, with the goal of communicating the cluster’s research in an accessible, engaging, and visually compelling way.
Together, Bettina and Jonas are looking forward to helping showcase the cluster’s innovative and impactful research. They are especially excited about collaborating with researchers across iFIT, gaining insight into brand-new scientific developments, and finding creative ways to make this research visible and accessible to different audiences.
Members of the iFIT community are warmly encouraged to reach out with publications, awards, conferences, events, ideas, or any other exciting developments. Whether you already have a concrete idea or simply want to explore new ways of communicating your research, Bettina and Jonas are always happy to exchange ideas and support new projects.
