Lucas Freidel wins ESMI Young Investigator Award 2026!

🥳What an outstanding achievement by our member and PhD Student 👨‍🔬Lucas Freidel, winning the European Society for Molecular Imaging - ESMI Young Investigator Award at this years Annual Meeting in Ljubljana 🇸🇮 together with 👩‍🔬Ella-May Hards from King's College London!

👏We at iFIT together with the whole team at Werner Siemens Imaging Center, especially André F. Martins, are extremely proud of you!

🔬With his abstract titled “A Metal-Free Genetic Tricistronic Reporter Enabling Hybrid PET/MRI and Optical Imaging,” Lucas stood out among hundreds of other scientific papers at the EMIM in Slovenia in March 2026! 🏆The award is presented annually at the European Molecular Imaging Meeting to recognize the best work by a young scientist.

🏆The award was presented by none other than outgoing ESMI President Jolanda de Vries and her successor, Tim Witney.
