Make it in Germany Workshop

🇩🇪This week, our PhD students took part in a two-day workshop “Make it in Germany” with Dr. Iris Wangermann, designed to help international early-career researchers successfully navigate academic life in Germany.

😕Working in German academia can feel puzzling at times - with many unspoken rules and hidden cultural expectations shaping communication, feedback, and teamwork. Dr. Wangermann’s interactive sessions revealed what usually stays invisible, offering practical tools and fascinating insights into the German academic mindset.

🤝Through reflection, exchange, and shared experiences, participants discovered that many challenges are not personal but cultural - and learned how to build confidence, clarity, and connection while staying true to their own identities.
