Medical faculty strengthens university teaching

The new institute brings together the former Competence Center for University Didactics in Medicine and the skills area "DocLab". Since 2011, students of medicine and related courses have been learning practical skills here in an interdisciplinary curriculum, from taking blood samples to difficult patient interviews. The Competence Center for University Didactics in Medicine offers qualification courses and further training for teachers and thus supports them in professionalization, training research, promotion of young talent and networking. In addition, TIME is establishing a focus for research on the didactics of medicine in the newly founded area of "Research".

The research project TüKITZ Med, which will be launched in December 2021, is also based at the new institute. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, teaching formats for the focus area "AI in Medicine" are being developed here in collaboration with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
