Philip Bucher receives DAG-HSZ award
🎉 Congratulations to Dr. Philip Bucher on receiving the 2026 DAG-HSZT Research Award!
🤩 We are delighted to congratulate Dr. Philip Bucher, iFIT - Cluster of Excellence member at the Universitätsklinikum Tübingen, on being awarded the 2026 Research Award of the German Working Group for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (DAG-HSZT).
🏆 The award recognizes Philip's outstanding contributions to advancing next-generation CAR T-cell therapies. His research combines innovative CRISPR base-editing approaches with cellular immunotherapy to improve the persistence and anti-tumour activity of engineered T cells, opening new perspectives for the treatment of both hematological malignancies and solid tumours.
🔬 These achievements are reflected in the recent Nature Cancer publication, "CAR-adapted PIK3CD base editing enhances T cell anti-tumor potency" [Link], and build on years of innovative research carried out within the Labs, led by iFIT members Prof. Judith Feucht and Jun.-Prof. Josef Leibold.
The DAG-HSZT is Germany's leading scientific society for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies. Its annual research award honors outstanding scientific achievements that advance the field and foster innovation in translational medicine.
