iFIT Visualization Award 2023

🎨 🔬 Is there a connection between Vincent #vanGogh and Science? We would say yes! Our winner of the Visualization #Award Contest Sophia Scheuermann demonstrated this in a unique way:
🖌 “Art like Vincent Van Gogh’s iconic masterpiece “Starry Night” is unique – as is each tumor and each patient. Also, Van Gogh’s talent was as rare as the pediatric tumor samples that we are analyzing. One of those rare tumors is this NUT midline carcinoma, depicted with its tumor immune microenvironment and two nerves. This image is a thought-provoking convergence of medical reality with the artistic realm. The tumor and the tumor microenvironment’s intrinsic patterns, reminiscent of swirling celestial forms and the vibrant color palette akin to the famous artwork, challenge conventional perspectives on disease, its inherent beauty, and on how to identify new guiding stars for the therapy of rare pediatric tumors.”
🏆 She and eleven other members of the iFIT took part in the Visualization Award #Contest at our iFIT Scientific #Symposium. All of them showed us that #Art and #Science are definitely closely connected. We are looking forward to our next #Visualization Award Contest and all the incredible images we will receive then.
🙏 Congrats to all our participants! And as a special offer we created a calendar for the upcoming year based on the beautiful images of all participants!
