NET Cancer Day 2022

What do zebras have to do with neuroendocrine tumors (NET)? In medicine, the zebra is used as a form of misdiagnosis, true to the motto: "When you hear hoof beats, think horses, not zebras." The message is: don't look for the unseen, because most of the time it's the obvious.

Unfortunately, this guiding principle does not always apply. Especially in NET, nonspecific symptomatology further complicates the diagnosis. The Hospital of the University of Tübingen is home of one of twelve NET centers in Germany aiming to help patients with this rare tumor disease.

As part of an information campaign for International Neuroendocrine Cancer Alliance NET Cance Day, Novartis Radiopharmaceuticals together with the Neuroendocrine Tumors - NeT association therefore visited the University Hospital and raised awareness of the treacherous disease, especially among young medical professional.

Almost the entire team of the Tübingen NET Center took the opportunity to join the booth staff such as our iFIT members Christian la Fougère & Ulrich Lauer, head of the Tübingen NET Cancer center.
