iFIT Seminar Series with Dr. Jovana Cupovic
Mentoring T cell immunity: Fibroblastic stromal cells

Dear iFIT members & friends,
On behalf of our spokespersons Lars Zender, Hans-Georg Rammensee and Bernd Pichler, it is our pleasure to announce the next episode of our iFIT Seminar Series with speaker Dr. Jovana Cupovic from the Max Planck Institute of Immunobiology and Epigenetics in Freiburg. Dr. Cupovic will give a talk on "Mentoring T cell immunity: Fibroblastic stromal cells".
About Dr. Cupovic research focus:
Regulation of immune functions is not uniquely attributed to hematopoietic cells. Fibroblastic stromal cells have emerged as central regulators of immune responses in lymphoid organs and inflamed tissues, making the biology of fibroblasts a topic of intense research in tumor and infection immunology, autoimmune diseases, and fibrosis. Hence, the research into the fundamental processes that fibroblasts engage in regulating immunity has gained substantial traction toward clinical application. My research investigates how fibroblasts regulate T-cell responses in different immunological scenarios and elaborates on various environmental and cellular clues that combine to shape fibroblast function, consequently determining the function of immune cells.
We are very much looking forward to the second iFIT Seminar Series episode of the New Year and invite all interested parties from the University and University Hospital to join us!
