Cancer is a complex disease. There are over 200 different types of tumours and their diagnosis and treatment require the close collaboration of specialists from numerous disciplines.
The Southwest German Tumor Center - Comprehensive Cancer Center Tübingen (CCC) has made it its prime business to research this disease, to promote multi-professional co-operation, and to ensure the best possible treatment and support for cancer patients. The information on our web pages is therefore intended for patients and their relatives, as well as for physicians, nursing staff, researchers and the interested general public.
With effect from July 2011 the CCC Tübingen is being sponsored again as an Interdisciplinary Oncology Center of Excellence by the "Deutsche Krebshilfe" (German Cancer Aid). Furthermore, an internationally staffed expert committee appointed the CCC Tübingen one of the partnering sites of the German Consortium of Translational Cancer Research on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in November 2010. The certification as a Center for Oncology in accordance with the stipulations of the "Deutsche Krebsgesellschaft" (German Cancer Association) was acquired in May 2009.
