Pneumological oncology
All personalized tumor therapies are performed according to the recommendations of the corresponding interdisciplinary tumor conference, which is composed of colleagues from Pneumology, Medical Oncology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Radiation Therapy, Radiology, Palliative Medicine and Pathology. Diagnostics and personalized therapy of pneumological tumor diseases are carried out within the framework of the Comprehensive Cancer Center Tübingen (in close cooperation with the departments of cardiothoracic surgery and radiotherapy).

Ventilation and Weaning
There are 6 places available for the care of acute diseases requiring ventilation in the internal intensive care unit 93; furthermore, the control and readjustment of home ventilators is carried out; a further focus is on the care of patients in whom weaning ( weaning from the ventilator) proves to be difficult.

Normal wards
Our normal wards are used for the care of patients with oncological diseases and other severe pneumological diseases requiring inpatient therapy (pneumonia, exacerbated COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), etc.).
- Ward 85: 15 beds
- Ward 84: 8 beds
- Ward 74: 6 beds
Short-term care unit
In our short-stay ward, patients are cared for for monitoring after bronchoscopic and other interventions, as well as for the control of non-invasive home ventilation.
- Ward 76: 7 beds
Intensive care unit
In addition, the department has 6 ventilator beds in the internal intensive care unit 93.
Pneumology outpatient clinic
The Pneumology Outpatient Clinic provides pre- and post-operative care for inpatients as well as long-term care for patients with rare lung diseases (such as pulmonary fibrosis and PAH (pulmonary arterial hypertension)) and with bronchial asthma that is difficult to treat and control. In addition, patients can be referred at any time for clarification of unclear pneumological clinical pictures by the responsible general practitioner or pulmonary specialist.
