Patient Registration

Please present the following documents to us:

  • Electronic health card
  • Referral slip (required per quarter)
  • exemption certificate, if applicable
  • all findings made so far/complete medical records).

For our part, we will complete any outstanding examinations (laboratory medicine, NET-specific examinations, sectional imaging (CT/MRI, DOTATATE-CT if necessary)

In case of external histological examinations, we will arrange for a reference pathological examination.

Presentation to the Tumor Board of the Center for Gastrointestinal Oncology (ZGO)/ENETS CoE (with representatives from Medical Oncology, Pathology, Nuclear Medicine, Surgery, Radiology and others). Presentation to the ZGO/ENETS CoE tumor board is targeted in a 2-4 week time frame.

Second Opinion

Everyone with cancer is entitled to a second opinion for his or her treatment, which can be obtained from particularly experienced physicians. The health insurance usually covers the costs for this. A referral is required.

There are basically two ways to obtain a second opinion from the University Hospital of Tübingen:

  1. The patient presents in person at the responsible outpatient clinic (here: NET Outpatient Clinic). The appointment is made by the referring physician's office or by the patient him/herself.
  2. An interdisciplinary team of NET specialists discusses the patient in the tumor board ZGO/ENETS CoE. Registration for this is usually done by the attending physician.

Registration formalities, contact persons and schedule of tumor conferences

Presentation of NET patients is only possible with complete documentation. In case of incomplete documentation, the NET experts are unfortunately unable to make recommendations.

In the weekly interdisciplinary sarcoma conference, patient cases are discussed and multimodal therapy concepts are developed. Case reports from the internal clinic area as well as external inquiries from referring physicians or patients are discussed. We are happy to provide our expertise for inquiries about patients from outside the clinic. After sending the essential documents, we discuss each case in our interdisciplinary sarcoma conference and provide an assessment for further treatment. Upon request, we offer an appointment for personal presentation in Tübingen after discussion of the case in the conference.
