42 parents took part in the pilot study to test the newly developed group training for parents of teenagers and young adults with an Internet-related disorder. The training and the contents were positively evaluated by the participants. The data gave first indications of possible training effects: After the training, fewer symptoms of a computer game addiction were observed in the affected persons, as well as less aggressive behaviour and an improved quality of life. The effectiveness of the training will now be tested in a controlled randomized study.
