MR-guided radiotherapy

Research projects:

  • MR-guided online adaptive radiotherapy (MRgRT) (DFG: PAK 997/2)
    In February 2024, the German Research Foundation (DFG) approved the continued funding of a proposal for MR-guided radiotherapy (PAK 997/2). The proposal was submitted jointly by the Department of Radiation Oncology and the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Tübingen University Hospital. The interlinked and interdisciplinary research projects aim to develop new clinical applications of real-time adaptive radiotherapy for patients with tumors of the rectum, liver and head and neck region.
  • Online adaptive radiotherapy for locally advanced lung cancer: assessing the patient benefit in a multi-centric comparison of CBCT- and MRI-guidance approaches (PUMA study) (German Cancer Aid, DKH 70114708)
  • MR-guided online adaptive dose escalated radiotherapy for organ preservation in rectal cancer (MARS trial)
  • MOMENTUM study (The Multiple Outcome Evaluation of Radiotherapy Using the MR-Linac): a clinical study to collect clinical and scientific data in order to analyze treatment outcomes on the MR-Linac in a large number of patients. The aim is to create a large clinical and technical database to provide a high level of evidence for scientific findings on personalized therapy at the MR-Linac.
