PEG & Stoma Therapy

Stoma therapy

When a stoma (artificial bowel outlet) is inserted, you are confronted with a new life situation. We will accompany and support you with our professional expertise during your stay in hospital.

Our range of services includes contacting you before the operation for an informational discussion and subsequent marking of the stoma position. We will advise you in a personal consultation about the stoma installation and care options relating to the topic of "living with a stoma". After the operation, we will guide you and your relatives through the change of care and advise you, for example, on work, everyday life, partnership and leisure activities with a stoma. It is important to us to find the optimal care for you. Adapted to your needs and as inconspicuous as possible. Before you are discharged, we will take care of organizing aftercare for you at home, providing you with professional advice and individual care.

In the event of complications, it is possible to arrange an outpatient appointment. We also offer outpatient fecal incontinence advice.

PEG therapy

In the case of certain illnesses or restrictions, it may be medically necessary to insert a feeding tube in order to ensure adequate administration of fluids and nutrition and to prevent malnutrition.

Once a feeding tube has been inserted, we work closely with our nutrition team to provide professional and competent care for your PEG tube during your stay in hospital. We will instruct you and your relatives on how to change the dressing and how to recognize and avoid complications. In consultation with you, we will also take care of the organization of follow-up care at home, for professional advice and individual material delivery.

In the event of problems and the changing of replacement probes (Gastrotube and Button), outpatient care is available.
