Main research interests:
Molecular pathological and immunological studies on virus-host interaction in humans and in model systems of virus-induced myocarditis
Identification of diagnostically relevant markers in cardiac amyloidosis
Definition of biomarkers that determine the course of a heart muscle disease (e.g. cardiomyopathies, storage diseases) and identify potential therapy strategies in the sense of personalized medicine
