  • 15.05.2020From Monday, 18 May 2020, visits to the University Hospital Tübingen will again be possible with restrictions.

The new rules at a glance:
    - Each patient is allowed a maximum of one visitor per day between 3 and 6 pm. A visit is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes.
    - For the duration of the hospital stay, the number of visitors per patient is limited to two different persons. The patient designates two authorized visitors, who are entered in a visit list.
    - In certain sensitive areas, e.g. in risk areas such as haematology or intensive care units, special regulations may apply (further limitation of visiting time and number of persons).
    - The patient to be admitted may be accompanied by one person when admitted to the hospital.

Despite the relaxation, a ban on visiting persons still applies,
    - have the symptoms of a respiratory infection or increased temperature
    - who have had contact with a Covid-19 patient or an unrefuted suspected case within the last 14 days, or
    - who had themselves contracted COVID-19 in the last four weeks or who were suspected to have contracted COVID-19 in the last four weeks, or who were suspected to have contracted COVID-19 in the last four weeks without any evidence to refute the suspicion.

In order to ensure the greatest possible safety for patients and staff, the number of visits is initially clearly limited and strictly monitored. Only persons who are on their relative's visit list have access to the ward.

If you wish to visit a patient, you should always make arrangements with your relative in advance.

Visitors also receive a short health check (questionnaire and temperature measurement) at the entrances and wear a mouth and nose protector during their entire stay.

The previously established hygiene rules continue to apply unchanged.

    Outpatients and accompanying persons
The following applies to persons who do not come to the University Hospital because of Covid-19: Patients who have a medically non-urgent outpatient appointment will be contacted directly by the clinic if a planned outpatient appointment has to be postponed. Patients should only be accompanied by relatives in the event of serious illnesses such as heart attack, cancer or stroke. This exception also applies to those giving birth and children.
