The HEXACO Model of Personality offers a way to describe an individual’s personality on six broad traits:Honesty-Humility, Emotionality, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness to Experience.
The model is based on lexical analysis and can be understood as a helpful extension of the Five-Factor Model of personality ("Big Five"). The HEXACO Model is used for a broad range of research on the relationship between personality and behavior. A good overview can be found at: http://hexaco.org
In our project, for the first time, the model is used to characterize adolescents with mental disorders in terms of their personality and to analyze correlations between their personality traits and the psychiatric symptoms they exhibit.
