The Centre for Personalised Medicine (ZPM) was established as part of the Excellence Initiative of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in cooperation with the University Hospital of Tübingen. Here, data generation, data analysis, functional imaging, development of new therapies and their clinical trials are networked and transferred to health care.

The "Medical Technology" research platform is intended to bundle basic research for the application-oriented development of new technological concepts at Tübingen and develop initiatives in the fields of "imaging processes and image processing" as well as "sensor technology and signal transmission".
