Health services research deals with the structures, processes, and outcomes of healthcare measures at the level of individuals, organizations, and society, taking into account psychosocial, ethical, legal, economic, ecological, and systemic factors. Another area of health services research deals with the development, implementation, and evaluation of interventions or new forms of care under everyday conditions.
Prevention research deals with measures and activities to prevent, reduce, or delay diseases or the consequences of diseases. This includes both the identification and evaluation of risk factors for diseases or complications in existing diseases and the development and evaluation of interventions in the field of prevention and health promotion. Health services research
and prevention research have contributed significantly to the development of health care systems in Germany and internationally and have substantially improved the health of populations.
