The Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Tübingen was consistently rated as one of the best clinics in Germany for the diagnosis and treatment of depression, anxiety disorders and Alzheimer's disease in FOCUS analyses from 2012-2023.
Prof. Fallgatter as Medical Director and Prof. Batra as Deputy Medical Director of the clinic are also consistently ranked as Germany's leading experts for anxiety disorders or depression, bipolar disorders and addictive disorders from 2012-2023. In 2015, Prof. Eschweiler, senior physician of the clinic and head of the Geriatric Center, is also counted among Germany's leading experts for Alzheimer's disease according to the FOCUS analysis.
The clinic has been certified by the DGPPN as a continuing education center for psychiatry and psychotherapy until 2019.
The association is the scientific association of the chair holders for psychiatry and psychotherapy or those for psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychosomatics. Its mission is the joint representation in research, teaching and patient care, the advancement of science and the promotion of human health.
For many decades, the Conference of Chairholders has discussed and jointly represented positions on numerous topics. This evolved into the Association of Department Chairs in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in 2015.
