Composite restorations are tooth-coloured restorations that are directly bonded to the tooth surfaces using an adhesive technique. This results in durable and aesthetically pleasing restorations.
Using the multi-shading technique, composite is applied in individual layers of different shade intensities in order to adapt the restoration to the natural tooth shade and shape in the best possible way. In many cases, very good aesthetics can be achieved with a composite restoration.
Sometimes the use of so-called ceramic veneers (laminates) is recommended in the anterior region. For this purpose, the surface of the tooth is slightly trimmed back and in a second session the wafer-thin veneer is glued to the teeth.
