The Comprehensive Infectious Disease Center Tübingen (CIDiC; Interdisziplinäres Zentrum für Infektionsmedizin Tübingen, IZIT) was founded in 2002 at the university hospital. The goal of the CIDiC is the advancement of a coordinated interdisciplinary effort in patient care, in collaborative research and in training within the field of clinical infectious diseases. This includes the development of strategies in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of infections, as well as foundational and translational clinical research, quality management and basic and advanced training. Essential here is the close interdisciplinary cooperation between the participating disciplines.
