Professor Fischer arbeitet als Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon am Oxford Eye Hospital (Oxford, UK) und in oberärztlicher Funktion an der Universitäts-Augenklinik Tübingen. Neben der Katarakt-Chirurgie ist er auf die konservative und operative Behandlung von Netzhauterkrankungen spezialisiert.
