Anxiety exists in a broad spectrum ranging from a survival-oriented reaction to threat to the most severe psychiatric clinical pictures. The aim of the Anxiety Research Group is to elucidate the underlying disease processes.
Although the working group deals in principle with the entire spectrum of anxiety, a particular thematic focus is on social anxiety and emotional communication in people with anxiety disorders.
Methodologically, the focus is on cerebral imaging (in particular functional magnetic resonance imaging) and behavioral measurement.
